Communication enabler

The communication enabler is built using raspberry pi, analog switches, and integrated external output devices to the system. Using the principles of design thinking and feedback from caregivers/therapists, the device allows a mode to communicate with gentle movements. For example, a movement of the user's head towards the left would start playing music, to signal the message from the patient to caregiver.

Claw for enhancing finger functionality

A claw controlled by hand motions, for people with limited finger functionality. The device was coded using python and arduino as the processor.

Obstacle avoiding robot

This device is useful for visually impaired people. It helps avoid obstacles. The device was built using python on a simulator software called Webots

Future plans

The future plans include

1. Enhance the user- friendlyness of communication enabler by using camera instead of sensors and buttons. I also intend to create an AI model to identify patient's capabilities aligning their movements to different outputs.

2. Create greater awareness of use of technology in assistive devices via product demo at special needs schools and wiring blogs

3. Launch campaigns to engage community with differently abled people
